How I felt with having OCD

Ok I'm Victoria i was diagnosed with OCD at the age of 12 and since then been living with the pain ever since. I do not want to go through surgey because it would take time from my school work. I have OCD in my both ankle joints. When I first looked up to try and understand exactly what I had there was not much to look at. People hadn't taken the time to look into it. Now that I look on the internet again it made me happy that there was even support groups out there with people who felt the pain I did. This was so important to me because no one in my family could understand what I was feeling. Some of my cousins even thought I was just faking it or I just wanted attention. Did any of you guys felt the way I did?

Sorry to hear about your ankles. I too have OCD in both.

I understand completely about how no one understands your feelings about your injury. OCD is a tough one because it's hidden deep inside, where people can't really tell we're injured or hurting. Subsequently a lot of people don't really see us in pain so just kinda dismiss it. Also it doesn't help that OCD is rare and the majority of people have never heard about it.

How did you cope with OCD and how are you doing now?
