I'm a 49 y/o female who experienced a fall that resulted in a severe ankle sprain and what was (at first) diagnosed as an 'avulsion fracture' of the medial talus. What looked like an avulsion fracture later turned out to be an OCD as it moved out of it's place, causing plenty of pain and catching sensation. OS recommended arthroscopic microfracture and was actually surprised to remove an 18mm length, 10mm width and 5mm height fragment (yes, I have the souvenier). Most recent xray was a month ago and he said the defect looked as if it was filling in nicely, no arthritis or bone spurs... However, it is hurting and feeling as if it's locking up or catching again these past 2 weeks, complete with popping noise et al. Any one have this experience this many months later, or any idea as to what or why this would be happening? Thank you for any input!
